Copy of letter received from:- FERODO LIMITED, SOVEREIGN MILLS, CHAPEL-EN-LE-FRITH. Ref.- P Dept. 12. 20th October, 1922. (Friday) A FABRIC INTERLEAVING. Dear Sirs, We are pleased to announce that we have succeeded in producing a fabric interleaving for the springs of motor cars and lorries, and offer it with the greatest confidence after three years of strenuous tests, confident that the material possesses the necessary physical strength, and great shock absorbing effect, preventing road bounce and therefore much higher speeds being obtained on bad roads as compared with the slowing down necessary on the same car without the fabric interleaving. The fabric gives a "constant" effect, no change takes place at any period during use. It very largely does away with rust, because it prevents water getting in, and positively will, during the whole period of its use, allow for the fullest possible movement of the springs at every part. No lubrication of any kind is required or any special fastening. The rigidity of the fabric enables the interleaving to retain its position. It is almost invisible and therefore the effect is much greater neatness, than can be obtained by the use of gaiters. It does away with the necessity for shock absorbers, (cost is only about one third). At the Motor Show, Stand No.498 Olympia, we shall show pieces which have been in use on a Rolls Royce car, after three years daily use, no trace of any fracture and the fabric could have been replaced for a further similar period. We have reason to believe that very little selling effort will be required, because of the striking benefits obtained. It is certain to be recommended by the user, and we shall be pleased to help you with suitable literature if you will favour us by becoming interested. Thanking you for your esteemed favours in the past. We are, Yours faithfully, FERODO LIMITED, (Sgd.) Herbert Frood & Wm. A. {Mr Adams} Horrocks. Joint Managing Directors. | ||
