We have recently sent round the following standardisation sheets for the Phantom cars :- (1) Turbulent head. (2) Battery in the frame. (3) 9.5 Pendulum lever. (4) Rubber engine mounting. (5) Dipping head lights. (6) Zenith filter. (7) Lighter flywheel and clutch. (8) Cotton duck washers for slipper wheel. We expect shortly to add to this list the following :- (9) Central oiling. (10) Side by side rear brakes. (11) Cast dashboard. (12) Alteration to engine position and pedal position to give more body space. (13) Lighter wheels and hubs. Alteration to induction pipes to allow water heating to be used instead of exhaust heating. We have been watching to see that no money is spent in producing any experimental parts for the present Phantom which will not be used or will not supply useful information for 'SS{S. Smith}'. As an instance, we have been instructed to produce new type torque tube for the present Phantom rear axle and a number of alterations to the internal pieces of the axle. As these contd :- | ||
