LAUNCHING GEAR.

As requested we have reviewed the Winch programme to see how long would be required to complete the programme. The following schemes which have been completed took approx. 12 weeks.

PL.783 Rear Paying in rollers.
PL.776 Layout of Gear Train.
PL.788 Cable drum.
PL.793 Hand throttle and controls to carburetter.
PL.738 Guard for cable drum.
PL.514 Screw gear for paying in carriage.
PL.515 Fluid flywheel coupling.

The undermentioned schemes are in hand and we have spent approx. 4 weeks on them up to date.

(1) Guillotine.
(2) Automatic cable brake.
(3) Drum winding in carriage.
(4) Launching rear subframe.
(5) Clutch operation.

On June 5th. 1941 we gave a date of 40 weeks to complete the job.

The following designs still require tackling :-

(1) Automatic cable brake operating lever & controls.
(2) Guillotine operating lever and controls.
(3) Cable drum brake to be operated by hand.
(4) Lubrication.
(5) Petrol Pump Mounting & Pipes.
(6) Petrol Tank pipes and filter.
(7) Instrument panel.
(8) Electrical component. Starter switch fuse box, Voltage control, Battery.
(9) Cable speedometer.
(10) Exhaust system.
(11) Radiator and mounting.

To finish the schemes in hand and complete those not started leaves us with 28 weeks work. Assuming as before that 7 people were working on the job we believe it will take us about 5 weeks to complete the job.
