Notes of Meeting. being made with a view to making the Graham type more efficient and also silent, and although the main idea of this work was, as previously mentioned, with a view to supercharging the Bentley when it comes later to be fitted with the Wraith type of engine, we must bear in mind the fact that we may be pushed into the position of having to supercharge the existing Bentley. Adjustable Tappets. This work is in hand for both Bentley and 20/25. Lamps. The test with P.100 lamps had been carried out but was not very successful, i.e. the scheme of dimming instead of dipping. Brake Complaints. Whilst it was agreed that we should still tell Depots that, when they get this complaint on existing cars, they should put up the front shock absorber loading to 105 lbs., it was decided that we should not do this on all cars when we fit the new axle pivot pins as it would probably bring us complaints of very hard riding. The Design Dept. are dealing with the question of the axle control. The design is completed but not issued yet and it will have to be experimented with first before being put on 5-B-IV for the 15,000 miles test. Jaggers when coming to rest with the linings wett The most hopeful source of remedy here appears to be the water excluders. These of a type for existing cars were fitted to Ripon's car but they have not had it back long enough yet for us to hear the results. As regards future cars tests are proceeding and it is suggested that some might be fitted to Trials Cars and cars under our control such as Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}'s and Lp{Mr Lappin}'s. Jaggers when brakes are applied sharply at 40 m.p.h. A Depot Instruction Sheet as per the last Minute has been issued. Front Brake Thumps. The same remarks apply, and for future cars a modification increasing the area of friction surface | ||
