To Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to EY. E.F e x3699 x.3699 C OCT 27 1920 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG27.10.20. RECEIVED. RE: NEW TYPE MAGNETO DRIVE With reference to the serrated type magneto drive, we consider that designs should be got out fitting a brake drum for the magneto brake in conjunction with this drive. We feel that unless they can guarantee to obtain magneto pinions which have the minimum amount of slack, we shall have to use a brake in connection with this drive. We are carrying out a test now to see how much slack we can allow and will then find out from the Test Dept. whether it is practicable. We think, however, that we should have designs prepared so that in the event of the brakes becoming necessary, there will be no delay. hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
