Dear Bill,

Your letter made me very depressed when I read it, but I suppose I ought not to have expected anything else.

I appreciate that the difficulties of designing independent front springing must be very great, and that you will give it to us as soon as you can - my hopes were running in other directions as well, but they are now dashed to the ground.

I quite agree with all you say about speeds over 100 m.p.h. The figures you give for the streamlined model are very interesting, and indicate that the performance would be extremely good in the ranges which are in common use.

If I had known that you had sold one of these things, I should not have made the offer to buy one - I would much rather wait until some of the initial stages are "ironed out".

In the meantime I will continue to average 3 m.p.h. in the fog - waiting till the sunshine comes - hoping that it will not be long and that by then you will have some definite proposals to make.

Yours sincerely,

Neville
