TECHNICAL INFORMATION. t4572

We believe sometimes it happens that a Depot may be having great trouble in dealing with a certain complaint, the customer is caused a considerable amount of annoyance, and the Company is put to considerable expense, when the remedy for the complaint is already known.

We believe that some of our outside Depots should be able to provide the Works with very useful information of how they overcome certain troubles.
Cars continually running in France run under very different conditions to those run in England, therefore one would anticipate the Paris Depot may have to deal with unusual complaints - the same applies to Depots in other countries.

For experimental and design information, we should like all Depots to let us have particulars of the most common faults they have to deal with on the cars. In order to keep the list to reasonable proportions and so that it shall not entail any extra clerical work, we recommend that every Depot should report every 3 months the 6 worst complaints encountered on the cars.

We attach a form which we think each complaint should be made out on, as the information for which we ask will help us to visualise the exact nature of the trouble.

Although these reports will only be sent in quarterly there is no reason why any of the Depots should not write to the Experimental Department when they are in trouble with any particular feature on the car due to design.

The Expl: Dept: have already sent out Technical Information with the object of assisting the Company's Officials who have to deal with the running of the cars. This information will be augmented from time to time.

It is expected that Depots will make use of this information and keep it constantly in front of them when dealing with complaints which the information covers.

This information will be in addition to that already circulated by EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}
