No.6 Continue with test as previous memo since modifying rear main bearing to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}458 to prevent oil leak into clutch pit. Wraith III. No.2 Unit to be fitted on second Wraith bed for endurance. The object of this run is to try and reproduce the exhaust valve failure in France on 26-G-VI. New tappet guide bushes have been fitted in 3 materials, A/P, RR.50, and I/C. Unit will require running in on P.4, 10% hard oil mixture then, and when complete change over to Duckham's NP.3 oil for endurance run. Before commencing endurance take open exhaust power curve. Running to be carried out on Ethyl fuel with a careful record of tappet clearances kept. Each 1 hour to to comprise of - 40 mins. at 4000 R.P.M. 18 mins. at 4200 R.P.M. 2 mins. at 4400 R.P.M. | ||
