2. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}4/WH.8.10.37. Wraith III. No.2 Continued. Each 10 hours to comprise - 7 hrs full load. 2 hrs 1/2 load. 1 hr 1/4 load. After 20 hours remove cylinder head and crack test exhaust valves. Oil inlet temp to be controlled at 110°C. Log all failures. No.5. Ph.III No.6. Continue endurance under conditions of previous memo. Bentley No.19 Unit. Take power curves open exhaust, and with std Bentley silencer noting valve bounce, if any. Check slow running and observe tappet noise with the normal .006 tappet clearance. When completed, instruct fitters to fit EB.3240 camshaft and re-check the above tests with this camshaft, but with a tappet setting of .012.
