For the attention of Mr. Hawley.

Dear Sirs,

Thank you for your letter of April 3rd, together with enclosures.

When we called at the Graham-Paige plant before our departure from Detroit, they mentioned that they preferred the 1/2" pitch chain. I cannot quite recollect from my conversation with you what your views on the 3/8" pitch were. Graham-Paige say that there is less tendency to stretch; our own view is that with an automatic adjustment the stretching does not matter very much anyhow.

As soon as we have completed our layout of the chain drive, we shall be happy to submit it to you.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
