To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} From G.W.H Hôtel de France Châteauroux. We have managed to clear the radiator and get no loss of water when running. It was necessary to take the radiator off and wash it thouroughly out. We also flushed the cylinders out whilst the radiator was off. We could not get the radiator sufficiently clear by taking the plug out of the filter and washing out with the hose pipe. If this trouble had happened to a customer he most probably would have ruined the engine as it gave no warning, and could not be got right by the method which the design is supposed to give.
