To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce}

Regent Petrol ex Trinidad Leaseholds Ltd

I return herewith Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}10/E16.2.34, and would make the following observations:

(a) The use of Regent petrol in this country is distinctly on the increase. It is handled by Trinidad Leaseholds Ltd, a British Company who are drawing same from a British possession, i.e., Trinidad.

(b) Last October Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} tried out a 50-gallon barrel of Regent Petrol, and reported as copies attached. You at that date were too busy to test it in the Experimental Department.

(c) Trinidad Leaseholds are most anxious we should try out further samples, either similar to that Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} tested, i.e. "Regent", or their better brand i.e. "Regent Super".

Regent Petrol equals No. 3 Combine
Regent Super " No. 1 Combine

(d) Attached you will find reports of recent tests carried out on such Petrols in their own Laboratories.

(e) They have recently concluded arrangements with the Midland Red and Trent Bus Companies for supply of Regent Petrol over the next 4 years, and tell me it is used very extensively by Rolls owners in the South of England.

(f) They are not Members of the Petrol Ring.

Personally I have always felt we should do what we can to foster the use of such British fuels.

ROY.{Sir Henry Royce}
