86115. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.2/MA. 20th December, 1934. Messrs.Klaxon Ltd., 36, Blandford Street, London, W.1. For the attention of Mr.C.R.Gentry. Dear Sir, During a recent try out on one of our chassis in France the Klaxon windscreen wiper on that car gave trouble, in the first place due to the shaft of the reduction gear tightening up, shortage of lubrication being the cause. It is noticed that there is no outside provision made for the lubrication of this spindle, apparently the initial filling of oil and grease is not sufficient for continuous maintenance of the lubrication. We also had a failure due to one blade of the wiper falling off, the bolt securing the same having worked loose. We shall be glad if you will kindly examine these two complaints and let us have your recommendations for curing same. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
