(2) (5) The hood must be such that water will not drop on to the front seats when the car is standing. The top deck of the front seats by the occupants shoulders can be widened a little - (see N. scheme 2515.) (6) We would like to try to use spring and hair cushions for the front seats in the place of air bags, provided this will not increase the weight unduly. The rear seat compressed cushion line can be made as much lower than we have indicated as is possible. (7) The hood must not be boxed in when down, but must merely rest in slings in the tail cavity. If you would kindly inform the writer when the body is framed and ready for panelling he would like to call on you to go over the question of what ironing would be advisable. With a view to learning something about the weight of the component parts of the body, in the hope of saving still more in this direction, we suggest that the following weights would be of interest:- (1) Body framed, ready for panelling. (2) Body panelled. (3) Weight of front screen. (4) Rear screen. (5) Hood complete. (6) Wings with stays. (7) Complete chassis as delivered. (8) Complete car. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
