To Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Copy to CJ. " " Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} " " By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} " " Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} " " EFC. X.4197. RE TYRE PUMP - 40/50 H.P. CHASSIS Referring further to the above, an alternative method of lubricating the crankpin of the pump as suggested by Mr. Royce which can be tried if the method of lubricating shewn on LeC.1295 is not satisfactory, consists of an annulus in each crank disc with drilled oil hole leading up to the crankpin as per sketch. Referring to the valve springs, these should be about ¼ lb each in load, the gearing is of 12 diametral pitch, and the small wheel has 37 teeth, and the large one 57.
