-2- Switching. Test the correctness of the switching operations as follows :- Connecting the positive terminal of a 12 volt battery to the "plus" terminal of the switch, and one lead of a 12 volt lamp, (preferably a high wattage lamp) to the battery negative. (1) Using the other lamp lead, with the "Master" switch in the "Off" position, but with the ignition and starter switches "On", no light should be obtained from any of the terminals. (2) With the "Master" switch in the "P.L." position, and the other switches remaining "On", light should be obtained from terminal No.5 only. (3) With the master switch in the "On" position only:- (a) Light should be obtained from terminal 8 only. (b) Now link terminals 8 and 2, when light should be obtained from Nos.2, 6 and 8. (c) Now switch the ignition lever to "On", when light can be obtained from 3A, 3B, 2, 6, 8 and 11. Confirm that 3A or 3B can be switched off according to whether the lever is moved to A or B. (d) With the ignition lever "Off" and the starter button pressed, light should be obtained from Nos.2, 6, 8 10, and T. Confirm that releasing the button switches of No.10 and T. (e) With the "master" lever in the "S & T" position light should be obtained from Nos.2, 5, 6 and 8. (f) With the lever in the "H, S & T" position, light should be obtained from Nos.2, 4, 5, 6, and 8. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. | ||
