RE "GOSHAWK II" - FRONT ANCHORAGE OF REAR SPRING.

[STAMP: RECEIVED JUN 30 1921]
[HANDWRITTEN: X4261]

We sent you on the 28th inst., (DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/STT3/CB28-6-21) drawing "N" Scheme 923 shewing the modification to this anchorage to enable the spring to be easily taken down when step irons valance, etc., are fitted. The existing scheme could be used in the experimental stages, but must be replaced by this latter one before the bodywork is fitted.

Three alternatives are shewn. Fig. 1 is that generally preferred by Mr Royce, but in case difficulty is experienced in pressing the boss for the cantilever pin out of sheet stuff Fig 2 may be used.

Fig 3 is a method of forming the cantilever boss by a separate forging, but should only be resorted to in the event of serious manufacturing difficulty with either of the previous figs.
