X4262 JUL FC RECEIVED DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/STT2/EH.1-7-21. RE REAR ROAD SPRING ANCHORAGES - "GOODMAN" Please receive herewith three blue prints of - "N" Scheme 925 showing the Rear Spring Aft Shackle, modified to suit graphite-containing oil-less bearings, similar to the design shown for the forward anchorage. We wish these bearings to be experimented with, but the greaser type should be adhered to unless the results go to prove that these graphite bearings have no disadvantages. We feel that there is no lubrication of the end thrust washers, which might result in wear and noise. We shall forward immediately, a scheme for the Forward Anchorage, using Alemite lubricators. Please note that Alemite Greasers should be applied to the front springs if that is not already done. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/STT. | ||
