Oy-1 - 2 - Locking up either one of the replenishing valves on PI horizontal shock absorbers will cause "voids" and knocking immediately. We strongly suspect also that inadequate replenishing valves cause the dampers to lose oil, since the voids created in the working cylinder are balanced by a corresponding rise of oil-level in the reservoir. Also of course, a shock absorber with voids in it is entirely ineffective for controlling the smaller criss-cross oscillations of the axle. Thought you might be interested in these ideas.
