(1) STEEL CASTINGS.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} reported that they had interviewed Mr. Royce on this subject and it is intended that all steel castings shall disappear from the car. Designs are being drawn out now by Mr. Day.

Mr. Whitehead is arranging for a representative of Messrs Thompsons to come to these Works to go into the question of pressings, instead of steel castings.

(2) NEW RADIATORS.

Tubes have been ordered for 100 Radiators and BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} is going to give Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} instructions as to what parts of the radiators are required as pressings from outside, until we are able to tackle the pressings ourselves in our own Works.

(3) SUPPLIES.

The question of policy comes very largely into the subject of supplies, and the ordering of material. With the increased capital of the Company, and the large Works, it is necessary, of course, to have a sufficient turnover to meet all our responsibilities, and it is thought that although we may do, and possibly can, make many things that we now buy, we shall never be able to sufficiently reduce the number of cars to be turned out, to keep us going.
