(4) SPRINGS - CHANGEOVER.

It was decided to change split leaf rear springs for solid rear springs at once, and arrangements to be made, if possible, to change all cars now in Test Dept. before being despatched, and to change all which have been delivered to coachbuilders, under the supervision of Mr. Evans in London, and to send about six men from the Works to do this.

With reference to cars delivered to provincial coachbuilders, these would have to be tackled from the Works, and we would have to send men to these various coachbuilders.

With regard to cars abroad, it will be probably necessary to send a sufficient number of solid leaf springs to cover all the cars delivered, as there will be little hope of getting the existing springs back to convert them quickly enough.

Cars already in customers' hands would have to be dealt with as delicately as possible and we should try to get hold of them without in any way inconveniencing the customers. It would not take many hours to change a set of springs on a car in customer's hands, possibly the chief difficulty would be the painting.

(5) MAGNETOS.

A letter was read from Mr. Paterson stating he was in a position to supply several thousand Bosch Magnetos.

This question was discussed by the meeting and it was decided to write and ask Mr. Paterson for full details and if these are Z.R.6 type.

Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} stated there was no difficulty in getting Bosch Magnetos now, he had had offers for any quantities of these lately.

(6) CYLINDERS.

The report on the Cylinder question reveals that the whole situation is getting much easier. Willans, Wallworks and ourselves are all now producing successful Cylinders, and in fair quantities.

No further questions were raised, owing to several members being away.
