- 2 - - continued 3rd January 1935. between drum and shoe, we are fully in agreement with this, if aluminium shoes and a wire loaded lining are used. We have found that with steel shoes and non-metallic lining, a clearance of .015" is quite satisfactory. We thoroughly agree with your last paragraph, and for your information we may say that in certain cases, we have had to "build in" an extra amount of sponge, as complaints were made that the brake pedal felt too rigid.
