Dear Mr. Robottam,

I wish to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 14th May in Mr. Banks' absence abroad.

I have just had time to make a cursory examination of the two crank shaft pin oilers to which you refer, and can only say at the moment that the condition appears to be extraordinary. I note that you suggest that this corrosion is the result of the attack by lead bromide, but it is contrary to our general run of experience to find such an obviously dangerous concentration in lubricating oil. This is clearly a matter which should be gone into thoroughly; I just wondered whether you had a sample of the lubricating oil available in order that we might have an analysis made. I think it would be a good plan if you could possibly collect this, and all other relevant data, in order that some definite conclusion can be arrived at.

With kind regards,

Yours very truly,
H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Fossett
