With reference to the minute 10 of the 93rd meeting attached, we have carried this matter of tyre balance to the point when it is necessary for us to say to the manufacturers, that any orders we place with them are conditional upon the tyres being in balance to within a certain stated number of ounces. The Committee do not think it advisable to threaten the Tyre Companies with the loss of our orders, (so that we may force them to deliver tyres which are in balance), and suggest that you may possible be able to bring some pressure to bear upon, say the Dunlop, without resorting to this extreme measure. The Committee are of the opinion that the question of balance has not been seriously tackled by any of the firms we have been in communication with, but [Handwritten Note] W. Bm.
