9 X670 Steering (Contd) (7) oil being carried in this rod. It was suggested that an oil pipe might be carried from the rear end, to be lubricated to the forward end, and attached by clips to the rod. The Committee do not consider this scheme to be good, but it might be worth trying. Mr Nadin suggested that a flap or door might be arranged in the vallance, opposite to the steering lever, in such a way that the lubrication of this part could be attended to conveniently. The committee agreed that this was probably the more satisfactory scheme. A further suggestion was that the lubricator should be attached to the lever and not to the tube, and that the oil hole may be drilled through the ball in the same way that the lubrication of the shock absorber ball joint is effected. Mr Wormald considered that this drilling of the ball end was inadvisable. The Committee agreed that the various schemes should be placed before Mr Spinney, and that he should consider same and any further ideas he might have on the matter, and that he should submit them to the Committee at a later meeting. 93rd Meeting Re Mrs Micholls' Car. Locking scheme for steering joints The Committee were advised that Mr Spinney had not yet been able to give this matter attention. | ||
