COPY. SPECIFICATION OF 40/50 H.P. PHANTOM II CHASSIS WITH MODIFICATIONS AGREED BY THE AMERICAN COMPANY. The chassis to be supplied shall be the 40/50 h.p. Rolls-Royce chassis, Phantom II, as produced for the English Market, subject to the following omissions and modifications. (a) Body Subframe not to be supplied (b) Exhaust Cut-out not to be supplied (c) Steering to be left-handed with necessary consequential modifications, including gearbox and brake levers (d) Carburetter to be exhaust-heated (e) Wheels to be of the flat base type to take 19" x 7" tyres. (f) Tyres 19" x 7" to fit above wheels. (g) Rolls-Royce Limited will supply with each chassis a fitting of their design and approved by them to enable the American Company to add bumpers to each chassis. (h) Headlamp Brackets are not required, but posts to be supplied to enable the American Company to fit their own headlamp brackets. (j) Chromium or other untarnishable finish as may be mutually agreed to be given to those external parts usually nickel-plated, but not to parts inside the complete car, i.e., Steering column, brake levers, etc. (k) Radiator Shutters to be automatically controlled. (l) Lubrication to be modified to give:- (a) Extra lubrication at starting; (b) Lubrication of clutch coupling; (c) Axles to be connected to the central lubrication scheme, provided Rolls-Royce Limited have passed these modifications for production. (m) Speedometer drive of American type. (n) Fuel gauge to be graduated in U.S.A. gallons. (o) Petrol filler cap to be hinged.
