x180 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 3729 S/W (Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}) MAY 20 1921 Hn{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}9/LH{Mr Haworth}19.5.21. re Experimental Central Control long Type Chassis No. 5 EX. RECEIVED As you are aware, at your request, in June last we ordered an Experimental Landaulet body from Hooper & Co., for the above, and as we were advised that the job was urgent we requested Hoopers to push ahead with the construction of the body, with the result that same has been ready for mounting for some months. So far the chassis has not been delivered to Hoopers. Will you please let us know whether it is intended to complete the chassis, and if so, when you think it will be ready for despatch? Hoopers have completed work to the value of between £400 and £500 and naturally they expect payment. If it has been decided not to proceed with this special chassis, then we shall have to get the body altered to suit a standard long type chassis, but we are not anxious to do this, as it would involve a charge of about £60 nett to cover the necessary alterations.
