Tests taken for Wind Noises. Referring to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}22/KW.28.2.35, and the four items mentioned therein - (1) Front edge of sliding roof. There appears to be great difficulty in sealing the joint at the front edge of the sliding roof. None of the mechanisms in use at the present time seem efficient for this purpose. We think the closing device has to be made so that it drags the front edge against a ramp with spring pressure, which should make a definite joint, and at the same time force the front edge up against the overlap on the screen rail. With this provision the external gap should also be eliminated. The front rail of the sunshine roof slide can be made of ample depth in the plan view, to ensure making a good joint across the whole width. Our endeavours must be directed towards obtaining a closure of this type on sunshine roofs. (2) The front door edge and gap. With regard to closing the gap round the front edge of the door, we know of no way of doing this other than by the provision of a welt of generous proportions. This is instructed for SpectreCodename for Phantom III S. This body is also instructed with a leading ridge on the doorpost standing proud of the door edge. (3) The hinge and gap of the front doors. This can be dealt with by using a sorbo rubber welt | ||
