London. W.1.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to the shock damper bellows you supplied to our drawing F.100692, we are still in distinct trouble with regard to the movement of the bellows.

We now require .200" movement instead of .100". You recently supplied us with a sample bellows, but on test it appeared to be no more flexible than the others.

We are enclosing a print of F.100773 which is the modified drawing of F.100692 and would like you to have a serious attempt to supply a more flexible bellows, which will work over a range of .200" without taking a permanent set.

We imagine you will be able to use thinner material for the bellows and reduce the inside diameter as far as possible. If you cannot do either of these, we should like to know your reasons, as at present it appears that we shall be unable to use a bellows in the shock dampers.

We feel sure you will see our position and you will endeavour to supply a sample with dummy ends as soon as possible.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
