DIAGRAM OF MACHINE BUILT FOR RECORDING SHOCK-ABSORBER CHARACTERISTICS.
The Shock-Absorber is Mounted on the End of a Stiff Leaf Spring and the Axle End of the Link is Attached to the Top of a Reciprocating Piston. This Piston Rotates the Drum of a Steam-Engine Indicator at the Speed of the Axle End of the Link, and the Link Force is Measured by Recording the Deflection of the Leaf Spring on the Chart.
