Thank you very much for your letter dated June 27th, reference Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}/20/JH, together with the graph showing the rear slip angle of the Goodrich tyres you have recently tested compared with the competitive make you mention. We are very glad indeed to learn that the difference is not great and that from this point of view you regard the tyres as satisfactory. It is, however, of great interest to us to know that you have found the curved rib tread too noisy, although we quite expected you to find the straight rib tread less noisy than the curved design. We shall be very glad to hear from you again when you have had an opportunity to complete your tests of the tyres with the straight rib tread, and in the meantime we would like you to feel that we hold ourselves at your disposal for any further assistance which you may feel we can lend.
