| Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}S/ML. Customers cars 261/3) 14.12.40. J.Thompson, Esq., Dawsmere, Holbeach, Lincolnshire. Dear Jack, I hear from Beryl that you are still interested in getting a Bentley. My recommendation at the moment would be that you should buy a 3½ litre, if you can find one with the right sort of body on. This however, is not easy, and may be impossible. Jack Barclay has none at present that I would recommend. He has two 4¼ litres which should be what you want, numbers 20 and 25 in the enclosed list. Provided that you impress upon him that you are a penurious Air Force officer, I can probably get a small reduction in the purchase price. I think if you could get No: 25 for £1,000, it might be a good buy. I hope to see you at Christmas. If there are any good duck at Dawsmere I should like to have a crack at them on my way to Middleton. Yours sincerely, | ||
