Dear Sirs,

We have been given to understand by our Sales Dept. in London, that you have fitted one of your exhaust silencers to a Rolls-Royce car belonging to Col. Leverson-Gower with excellent results, and we are therefore very interested. We are keen to try one on a 40/50.HP. Phantom III. car and at the request of our Mr.Clark, whom you were in touch with the other day, I am sending you the following data re our engine:-

B.H.P. 190 open ports at 3750 RPM.
Maximum RPM. 4500
Cubic capacity 7668 ccs. (12 cyls)
Exhaust timing over heavy accelerations i.e.
at tappets clearance .030" -

E.O. 36° B.B.D.C.
E.C. 6° B.T.D.C.

Exhaust timing under running condition i.e. at
tappet clearance .012" -

E.O. 71° B.B.D.C.
E.C. 29° P.T.D.C.
