We have received the field telephone and the cells, quite safely, for which we thank you.

You, however, kindly offered to enquire the situation as regards incandescent lamps for 24 volt circuits, as I want to alter the installation here from 12 to 24 volts, and should like for this voltage to use high efficiency (½ watt) lamps. The best, according to our tests, have undoubtedly been the Osram gas filled.

I understand also that the lamps holders for 24 volts will be of the normal standard size, as used for 100 and 200 volt lamps.

As regards car lighting lamps, we have been enquiring from Mr. Cowen as to whether central contact lamps are available for earth circuits at 12 volts, similar to the 6 volt ones used on the American cars. We do not at present intend fitting a single wiring system, as we have now a very satisfactory two-wire system earthed only through a fuse for the battery ignition system. The result would be a that any earth (frame) contact on the chassis would blow this fuse, and only cut out the ignition system, leaving the rest of the double wired circuits intact.
