EVI/15.3.30. Before we would be prepared to agree to its standardisation we should wish to build and test for 12,000 miles at least two bodies of the open car or cabriolet type as it would be a terrible financial blow to the Company if any change were made in the sub-frame which would cause a failure of our coachbuilders bodies as we should not discover the fact until many bodies had been built & were in customers hands. For your first test with rigid engine mounting we suggest it that you replace the present rigid support by a support just in front of the front end of the rear spring. This support would be exactly the same as the front support now in use. It would be made to take t main load and the rear support would be fitted as per our instructions in the book. Should the first tests prove satisfactory we would no doubt wish to give you a design.for an improved centre bracket. We shall be interested to read your reports on any tests which you may make in connection with the body subframe, relative to the radiator shimmy problem. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
