RE WHEELARCH CLEARANCES

6.750 REAR TRACK, P.2.

We send herewith N. schr 3086, shewing the rear wheel arch clearances for the 60.750 rear track, set out on the lines of the latest clearances used on P.2. at present.

The rims are 19" diameter and the tyres drawn are the largest possible which can be fitted to such rims.

We have shown the hubs moved out a total amount of 1.550, and this would give a 60" track with the present standard wheels. We have shown the proposed new wheels having the tyre and rim moved out .375" relative to the shell, thus giving a track of 60.750.

We have sent a print of this drawing to Messrs. Park Ward & Co. and are altering the body which they are building for the second experimental car to suit. If therefore these new wheels are not going to be used we must know at once.

It will be seen that with this new axle and wheels, on maximum bodies with low rear seats a rear cushion 47. 500" wide is possible.

Will Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} please sign this drawing and hand it to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}
