I have asked our Repair Department for a report, and they inform me that the only occasion on which they have had a similar valve failure is when a car had been driven round Brooklands flat out for a very considerable period.

I am of the opinion that if a private owner had driven his Bentley at Brooklands in such a manner you would consider him responsible for any failure.
