Big End Bearings in AC6 Material 12 sets of bearings of this material have now been produced (including one set for Paris) and tests so far carried out are reported by LA{L. A. Archer} to be satisfactory. As it is intended to introduce these bearings on "D" series, subject to satisfactory reports, and as "D" series is now in production these bearings therefore become standard. 2. Oil Cooler Deletion The first 100 chassis in "D" series will be fitted with oil coolers. The oil coolers will however be discontinued while the chassis is on test in order to gain experience of the engines running without oil coolers. From the 101st chassis in "D" series it is intended to delete the oil cooler altogether by a modification to the crankcase, for which purpose it is intended to alter the pattern. 3. Modified Teaser It was agreed to introduce this on production at the 22nd chassis in "D" series, and the lengthened starter pinion at the 26th in "D". 4. Overdrive Gearbox A lengthy discussion took place on this, and also on the possibility of introducing it at the 51st instead of the 101st in "D" series. It was clear that its earlier introduction than at the 101st in "D" is not possible. The time is too short and there is too much other new work in hand. To meet Sales' request | ||
