GOVERNOR UNIT.

We have been testing the main release valve to N.Sch.3837. This embodies a spring of half the rating of the spring in the present main release valve. We find that the new valve is more satisfactory from a point of view of accuracy. Will you therefore please fit the new valve to N.Sch.3837. on production at the earliest moment avoiding any scrap.

The main release valve should be set at 30 +2 lbs/sq.in. when the governor is running at the maximum speed. The range of the over-riding control valve must not exceed 25 lbs/sq.in. This is necessary as the main release valve is slightly noisy if it operates at low speeds. At higher speeds it is drowned by other noises in the car.

Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Les.
