SpectreCodename for Phantom III Bottom Tappets. After an hour's run at 4,000 r.p.m. the comparative condition between standard S/ZN and similar tappets as chrome plated by the Rover Co. have been taken. Averagely, the latter were in the better condition, the groove across the face not so marked and the surface definitely more free from score marks, although the plating had started to peel off from the edges in several cases. The following is a list of the various conditions of the tappets :- No. | Thickness of Plating | Treatment | Condition -------|----------------------|-----------------|------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1B | .0005 | Polished only | Slight groove and scratched surface. 2B | .0005 | " " | Bad groove & scratched surface 3B | .0005 | " " | As 1B 4B | .0005 | " " | As 1B 5B | .0005 | " " | As 1B 6B | .0005 | " " | As 2B 1A | .004 | Ground to Clean | Very slight groove, surface good & free from scratches.
