2. A second example occurs with the other sales car that I spoke of last, 91 G.Y. This car I understand was turned down at a sale because of the steering at high speed. The front dampers were taken off & the loads registered were N.S. 75 & 40 LBS., O.S. 70 & 60 LBS. These also I have reset to 100 LBS. each way & after checking the steering points over intend to test this car with 137 X.J. tomorrow, if possible with Mr. Northey. 91 G.Y. was also attended to by Mr. Platford & Mr. Hancock. They previously had the ball pads ground in on the cross tube (Present loading 15 LBS) with a view to improve the steering. 91 G.Y. showed up worse on test than 137 X.J. did in their original conditions. | ||
