W. R.{Sir Henry Royce} PUTTERILL. 22, LLOYD SQUARE, 'Phone: Clerkenwell 4390. CLERKENWELL, W.C. 1. To RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}, 137 X.J. 2-12-30. This car was tested again with the front dampers set at 80-70 lbs. The steering was not passable, although there were no signs of wobble. This is, of course, with everything entirely to standard limits. The front axle was too lively over rough patches at 70 & 80 M.P.H. As a final, I am resetting the front dampers to 100 lbs. each way again & having the new steering column fitted. The trouble with this car is insufficient damping at high speed with tyres at 35 lbs/sq" (Instructed from Derby) The question is, will the front dampers remain at the set poundage? | ||
