Engineer} BENTLEY B. 'CORNICHE' 14.B.5. (handwritten) must use new steering wheel. STEERING COLUMN. Please receive herewith the following scheme :- F.CD.1200 Steering Column Head. The above scheme shews the B.5 steering column head with four controls of the Wraith lll type, the additional controls being the ignition and the mixture required for 14-B-5. 'Corniche'. The steering wheel FB.4472 was originally produced from F.CD.853, but the diameter of the taper requires reducing as shewn, in order that the cam bearing can pass over for assembling purposes. It is intended to use the rubber mounted steering box in conjunction with this scheme, particulars of which are given on F.CD.992. For correct length of steering column see F.CD.1017 In order that the steering wheel FB.4472 can be used with the welded type cam tube as shewn on F.CD.853 will you please modify the cam steering tube - Top Piece FB.4425 by reducing the large diameter of the taper 1.4995 - 1 to 1.425 - 1 diameter and the diameter of the thread increased from 1.125 to 1.250. We also shew this head adapted to take three controls. Please instruct experimentally for 14.B.5 Corniche. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
