| 450c- To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} c. to RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}12/JH.17.2.39. 6 Continental Bentleys. Most of these chassis are standard pieces which we presume RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} will make. Until we have tested certain lightened parts, we can only instruct standard parts which may be replaced later, in which case the standard parts can be used on normal B.V. production. It should be safe to make 6 sets of the following special pieces. (1) Aluminium brakes. (2) PD.312 rear axles with 12/41 ratio. (3) Petrol tanks. (4) Pistons. (5) Induction pipes. (6) Alum steering box. (7) Frames. Front hubs PD.240 for steel wheels. The most likely later alteration will be the lightened suspension levers. B.V. standard ones should be available in the mean time. The specification for the radiator cannot yet be released. The rest of the car is as B.V. production except for wheels. These will be specified later. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
