Origin: To enable 15% stronger clutch springs to be used, thereby reducing wear of the fabrics, without increasing the clutch pedal pressure.
Experimental Test Report: Springs were fitted to 19-EX. 10,000 miles trial and eliminated the wear that was occurring with the standard springs.
Road Test Report: Complete scheme fitted to 58-GN.
