X4299 2 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BJ. BJ3/H10.7.22. X4299 X3545 X788 RECEIVED 10 JUL 1922 Tests with 40/50 Cars on Brooklands Track. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG.7.22. From a selling point of view the thing that we are most interested in is what is the comparative petrol consumption of a car running under normal conditions with 15-tooth and 14-tooth axles. Could you, therefore, have a test made as nearly as possible under normal conditions? For instance, perhaps a car might run at 10, 25, 35 and 50 m.p.h., five minutes at each speed, which would represent London, suburban and country travelling. If you can think of any other way of arriving at an all-round test, please do so. I quite agree that merely running at highest speed on Brooklands Track would be very little guide as to average petrol consumption in the hands of an ordinary user. B.J. PTO | ||
