On E.CD.895 we show the petrol drain pipes from the induction pipe and carburetter carried just below the engine underpan, necessitating an extension of the existing hole in the underpan to clear these pipes. This, of course, calls for an alteration to the dies used for pressing the pan at a cost in the region of £5. 0. 0. We find on looking at the cars on the production line, that the present drain pipes do not pass through the underpan, also, the underpan is very well drained by various holes and slots. In view of this, we do not consider it worth while making the modification to the underpan called for on E.CD.895 and the .3125 diameter drain pipe from the carburetter floatchamber should be shortened by .750", the smaller diameter pipe which drains the induction pipe passes through the existing hole in the pan and therefore does not require shortening. Will you please arrange for the details to agree with the above remarks, which apply to Series C. production. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
