Herewith is NSCH 4213 which shows a suggestion for an adjustable fork end on the brake cables. We understand the degree of adjustment shown will be enough to meet the case. We have consulted the Works on the question of soldering inside the bore and they see no objection. It is intended that the adjustment shall only be used in the Works, and cannot be used without removing the pin from the fork joint and the tangent bolt from the clamp. This latter in position prevents the screw from turning. When a final adjustment has been reached the whole can be locked by a taper pin if found desirable. There is intended to be only one of these adjustable forks on each cable, preferably at the rear end of the front cables and the front end of the rear ones. The drawing is intended to be typical, though it actually shows a Bentley fork, and requires adopting to the other types. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
