B.V. TOOLS

Messrs. Motor Panels have approximately 75% of the large press tools for B.V. under cover, and these have been oiled, the remainder they hope to deal with in a similar manner during the next month; this time is subject to labour and equipment being available. At present, those which have not been dealt with, are mixed in with several tons of other tools which have to be moved to make them accessable.

The small tools have been collected and are at present in their tool stores.

During our visit yesterday, we impressed on their Mr. Smith the importance of finding out how many tools are missing and advising us, as the replacement of these will have a big bearing on the time taken to get into production.

The checking jigs which Park Ward are making, should be available so that Motor Panels can check their pressings before a run of any part is made.

We heard unofficially from Mr. Smith that a lot of the parts which they had in hand, have been scrapped. That being so, it gives Park Ward an excellent opportunity to supply fool proof jigs and avoid having to accept parts which are incorrect and need a lot of alteration that will increase their production costs and make the bodies generally unsatisfactory.

Excellent, if you can only ensure that they do this.
