Y2200 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re Humfrey-Sandberg Free-Wheel Clutch. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}1/E23.1.31 I had a letter the other day from the Master of Sempill relative to the above and explaining the present position of this device. He wanted me to try the car but I said that, before so doing, I thought it advisable to obtain the views of our Design Dept. I said this because I had an idea that R.{Sir Henry Royce} did not approve of it and, therefore, it would be a waste of time for me to try the car. I have to-day received a memo. from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} on the subject as per the attached copy. I was just going to write to Sempill when he telephoned me to say that the car was up in the Derby district and he proposed to arrange for it to be sent in for you to try. I shall be glad, therefore, to have your views in due course. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Enc. Copy of E1/M.22.1.31 [STAMP: RECEIVED 31 JAN 28 LI] | ||
